MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The United States Embassy in Monrovia has clarified an Emergency Supplies and Household Preparedness notice by which some citizens have been gripped with fear and panic.

In the notice, the Embassy Security Department urged U.S. Mission personnel in Liberia to take proactive steps, including adequate food supplies at home in case of emergency.

The circular suddenly went viral, with some citizens interpreting it as a warning of potential instability amid tense Presidential and General Elections.

But, in a social media post on Saturday, September 23, 2023, the U.S. Embassy said:” The document was one of routine management notices embassies around the world issue to help U.S Mission personnel prepare in advance for emergencies.”

According to the embassy, September is U.S National Preparedness Month, as such, that was an excellent list for anyone to use in order to prepare themselves and their families for any sort of emergency.
