MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Transport has mandated an inquiry into the reported production of vehicle license plates by a Lebanese Company, Liberia Traffic Management (LTM).

The Ministry, in a statement released in Monrovia on Thursday, January 18, 2024, said the production of unauthorized license plates by the LTM has triggered national security and transport-related concerns.

The Head of Communications at the Transport Ministry, Lemuel Kleeme, said:” The Liberian Government agreed with the Modern Development and Management Corporation to print vehicle license plates and not Liberia Traffic Management (LTM).”

A ruling from the Sixth Judicial Civil Law Court and a certificate from the Montserrado County Notary Office in the possession of ELBC showed that the Modern Development and Management Corporation has the right to produce vehicle license plates in Liberia.

Meanwhile, the Transport Ministry said efforts are being exerted to ensure the resumption of service delivery, following the recent fire incident at the Ministry.
