Liberian Muslims Join Counterparts Worldwide to Observe Ramadan

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberian Muslims are today joining their counterparts around the world to begin the observance of Ramadan.

National Grand Mufti of Liberia, Dr. Abbas Kanneh, made the pronouncement over the weekend at a news conference in Monrovia.

Reading a special message on behalf of Dr. Kanneh, Deputy Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdullah Koromah encouraged Muslims nationwide to muster strength and observe Ramadan.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection.

According to the statement, Sheikh Koromah prayed that God Almighty would release ultimate blessings upon the nation and its people during the period of Ramadan.
