Nat’l Elections Com. Declares Bye-elections Campaign Opened…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Elections Commission of Liberia (NEC) has officially declared campaigns opened for Bye-elections in Nimba and Grand Gedeh Counties.

It followed two vacancies created by Vice President Jeremiah Koung and the death of Grand Gedeh County District # 1 Representative, Errol Madison Gwion.

At a news conference on Thursday, April 4, 2024, in Monrovia, NEC Chairperson Davidetta Brown Lansanah urged electorates in the two counties to denounce violence during the campaign period.

According to Madam Lansanah, at least three hundred twenty-seven thousand sixty-one registered voters are expected to participate in the electoral process.

Meanwhile, the NEC Chairperson has assured the public of conducting creditable and transparent elections in the two counties.
