MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has dispatched a high-level delegation to Ghana to resolve the ongoing issue affecting Liberians residing in that Country.
The Delegation comprises Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal Affairs, Cllr. Jeddi Armah, Representatives from the Foreign Ministry and Liberian Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC) officials, respectively.
Recently, the well-known Buduburam Camp in Ghana was demolished, affecting about one thousand six hundred Liberians residing in the Camp.
According to a Foreign Ministry release issued, recently, the Liberian Government revealed that since the onset of the demolition of the Camp, the Liberian Embassy in Ghana has been engaged in dialogues with the Ghana Refugee Board and other relevant authorities.
The Foreign Ministry also noted that President Joseph Boakai has been briefed on the matter, and has pledged his support to facilitate the necessary modalities to ensure a smooth return to Liberia.
