World Bank Unveils Draft Policy Document to State-Owned Enterprise

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-World Bank Delegation to Liberia has unveiled and presented a draft policy document to the Bureau of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE), following a field assessment of eighteen SOEs.

The document is intended to improve the governance of SOEs and reduce financial risks at the Bureau.

At the presentation ceremony on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, the World Bank Financial Specialist, Macdonald Nyavigo, underscored the need for the Government to reinforce efficiency and productivity at SOEs.

Mr. Nyavigo was speaking when he paid a courtesy visit to the Bureau of State-Owned Enterprise at its Central Office in Monrovia.

In remarks, the Director General of the Bureau of State Enterprise, Arthur Massaquoi, thanked the visiting World Bank Delegation and pledged the Bureau’s commitment to a harmonious working relationship with the Bank.
