Liberia’s Chief Justice Calls for Responsible Media Reportage…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Chief Justice Sie-A-Nyeneh Yuoh has called for responsible media reportage to positively impact the Justice Sector in the new information age.

Justice Yuoh also called for objective reportage by the media based on facts as opposed to misleading and distracted content.

The Chief Justice described the Social Media platform as a media used to portray negative perceptions of the Country’s Justice System.

She made the remarks on Monday, May 6, 2024, when she served as a Keynote Speaker at the International Association of Judges Conference at the EJS Ministerial Complex.

The week-long conference with over one hundred seventy-eight delegates hosted by the National Association of Trial Judges of Liberia is held under the theme: The Judiciary in Contemporary Times, Dispensing Justice in the New Information Age.

Meanwhile, Vice President Jeremiah Koung said:” Judges are charged with the responsibility to dispense impartial justice to uphold the rule of law.”
