MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Managing Director New Medicines and Health Products Regulatory Authority has disclosed plans by the entity to meet the International Standard Organization accreditation and the World Health Organization Maturity Level-3 in two tears.
The International Standard Organization specifies requirements for the competency of the entity to carry out tests and calibrations, including sampling.
According to a recent release issued, Dr. Luke Bawo spoke at a turning-over ceremony on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, where he stressed that the LMHRA will work closely with the WHO to revisit the previous self-assessment conducted using the Global Bench-Marking Tool.
Dr. Bawo promised to fully implement all Institutional Development Plans associated with each of the nine functions and ensure that the WHO conducts an onsite assessment to show proof that all regulatory functions assessed meet the requirements.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Louise Kpoto has promised to fully collaborate with the authority to ensure waiver on donated products is properly channeled through the LMHRA.
