MONROVIA, LIBERIA- Deputy Information Minister for Public Affairs, Daniel Sando, says the Government has the prerogative to decide who represents the Legislature at the ECOWAS Parliament.
Minister Sando said:” Such prerogative is invested in the power of the Liberian National Legislature and no one can undo the same.”
The clarification by the Deputy Information Minister comes in the wake of ECOWAS’s formal rejection of the move by members of the House of Representatives to replace three of Liberia’s Representatives to that Regional Parliament.
Currently, Liberia is represented at the ECOWAS Parliament by Bong County Representative, Moima Briggs-Mensah, Montserrado County Representative, Samuel Enders, and Nimba County Representative Taa Wongbe.
Recently, the Legislature elected Representatives Augustine Chiewolo, Samson Wiah, and retained Bong County Representative, Moima Briggs-Mensah, as Liberia’s Representatives to the Regional Parliament.
