Tubman Memorial Hospital Experiences Oxygen Plant Operations Challenge in Grand Gedeh County

by Administrator

GRAND GEDEH COUNTY, LIBERIA-The lack of stable power is paralyzing the operations of the only oxygen plants at the Martha Tubman Memorial Hospital in Grand Gedeh County.

The oxygen plant, which was one of the many funded by the Global Fund to help aid medical activities in the southeast, has been non-functional due to an insufficient power supply.

According to our Correspondent, the Martha Tubman Memorial Hospital gets its power from the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC), but the power voltage is too low to support the necessary medical equipment, like the oxygen plant.

In addition, he said oxygen is a required drug for clinics and hospitals, and its absence at the facility is highly risky.

However, the County Health Officer, Diamond Zoquaye, said the ministry is doing everything to handle the situation.
