MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia and the European Union (EU), over the weekend, planned the 10th Edition of the European Union-Liberia Political Dialogue aimed at strengthening Development Cooperation.
The gathering was held under Article 8 of the Cotonou Partnership Agreement between the EU, African and Caribbean and Pacific States , for the establishment of a platform for regular and comprehensive political dialogue.
A Foreign Ministry release issued recently said the dialogue was Co-Chaired by Foreign Minister Dee-Maxwell Kemayah and Head of the European Union Delegation to Liberia, Laurent Delahouss.
Minister Kemayah and Mr. Delahouss discussed selected issues of mutual interest, including the EU-Liberia Development Cooperation over the 202-2027 cycles, good governance and state of the economy.
They also discussed the creation of an enabling mutual accountability and transparency, human rights, foreign policy cooperation on regional and multilateral issues among others.
According to the release, both parties agreed to renew and review the condemnation on Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine, in violation of international law.
