MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Conflicting accounts are emerging over ten-thousand United States Dollars donated by the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) for the construction of a police station in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County.
Senator Marshall Dennis has denied that he has the money in his possession, though it was through his communication to the CBL the money was made available.
On the contrary, Superintendent Kai Farley and Representative Alex Grant are insisting the money is deposited in Senator Dennis’ personal account, and that he is refusing to release the fund to begin the project.
Appearing as a special guest on ELBC Super Morning Show on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, Senator Dennis clarified that the money was rather deposited in an account opened by the committee established to spearhead the project.
According to him, the money cannot be released when the committee is yet to design a work plan or show preparedness to begin the project.
Senator Marshall threatened to send the money back to the Central Bank, if the committee does not show seriousness, as it was the sole reason why the money was given.
