MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has congratulated, Bola Tinubu, on his election as President elect of Nigeria.
Mr. Tinubu was recently elected by millions of Nigerians in what is described as one of the tightest elections in the Country’s history.
In his letter of congratulations, ECOWAS Chairman and President of Guinea Bissau, Umaru Sissoco Embalo, called on the people of Nigeria to remain peaceful.
President Embalo said:” Acts of grievances or redress should be channeled through the constitution.”
In a related development, President George Weah has also congratulated Nigeria’s President elect, Bola Tinubu, in the just ended Presidential Elections.
Mr. Tinubu, the candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress, secured majority of the votes over his rivals, including former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and former Governor, Peter Obi.
An Executive Mansion release issued recently quotes President Weah as expressing the hope of working closely with the newly elected Nigerian Leader, to strengthen the bond of friendship between both countries.
The Liberian Leader urged all Nigerians to maintain the peace of their nation during such a huge democratic exercise.
He commended outgoing President, Mohammadu Buhari, for presiding over the organization of the democratic process.
