Pres. Weah stresses Gov.’s Commitment to Providing Quality Healthcare

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has reiterated Government’s commitment to providing quality healthcare to all Liberians.

President Weah said:” Government will continue to collaborate with partners, including the World Health Organization (WHO), to achieve the feat.”

The Liberian Leader noted that Government has made significant progress in ensuring the achievement of Universal Health Coverage and other health-related Sustainable Development Goals.

He said:” Government is doing everything possible to ensure the advancement of quality Public Healthcare for all Liberians.”

President Weah spoke virtually at program marking the 75th Anniversary of the WHO held at the Ministerial Complex on Thursday, April 6, 2023.

At the same time, Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor has launched the WHO 75th Anniversary yearlong Campaign in Liberia.

The yearlong program is aimed at buttressing Government’s efforts to increase access to healthcare.

Launching the program on Thursday, April 6, 2023, Vice President Taylor said:” I am committed to supporting the process through advocacy and awareness to ensure increased access to Universal Healthcare Coverage for all Liberians.”

Madam Taylor, named as WHO 75TH Champion for Liberia, urged Liberians to embrace the national campaign and practice the value of good health.

In remarks, WHO Country Representative, Dr. Clement Peters, said:” The campaign is in line with Sustainable Development Goals of leaving no one behind.”

The UN Official maintained that the WHO will continue to collaborate with Government and other partners to ensure that everyone has access to quality health services.
