MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has granted Muslims in the public sector a day off from work on Friday, to climax the celebration of Ramadan.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community.

The Liberian Leader extolled Muslims in Liberia and other parts of the world for the successful completion of the observance of the Holy Month.

An Executive Mansion release issued recently said President Weah acknowledged Liberian Muslims’ faithfulness and devotion to the Islamic faith, demonstrated by joining others globally to fast and pray for themselves, their families, and their country.

President Weah hopes the Almighty Allah will grant Muslims the full blessings of Ramadan, and answer all the good supplications they have made for Liberia and its citizens.

The Liberian has, however, called on all Muslims to continuously pray for peaceful, transparent, and credible Presidential and Legislative Elections in October, this year.

At the same time, President Weah has provided seventy-five cows to the Muslim Community to mark the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Internal Affairs Minister, Varney Sirleaf, said:” The cows were provided in the seventy-three Electoral Districts in Liberia.”

Minister Sirleaf disclosed that Montserrado County will receive nineteen of the cows, including Todee and Caresburg Districts.

Recently, President Weah provided a huge consignment of rice and five million Liberian Dollars to the Muslim Community at the start of Ramadan.

Speaking on Thursday, April 20, 2023, in Monrovia, Minister Sirleaf, on behalf of the Liberia Muslim Community, thanked the Liberian Leader for always identifying with Muslims during the observance of their religious events.
