Incident Management System records 133 new COVID-19 cases…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Incident Management System (IMS) has recorded one-hundred-thirty-three new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total of active cases to two-thousand-three-hundred-twenty-six.

In its latest update Monday, July 5, 2021, the IMS recorded one-hundred-four new cases in Montserrado County, followed by Lofa County with ten.

Maryland and Nimba Counties have five each; Margibi County has four and Bong County three, while Grand Bassa and Grand Cape Mount Counties recorded one each.

The death toll remains at one-hundred-thirty-three, and no new recoveries were recorded, as of the reporting date of Saturday July 3, 2021.

According to the latest update, health authorities are also following twenty two new contacts, bringing the total number of contacts to one-thousand-five-sixty-eight.

In a related development, police in Voinjama, Lofa County, have arrested and forwarded to court, several persons for violating government’s covid19 protocols.

Our Correspondent said they were arrested mainly for violating the protocol on the wearing of nose masks.

The violators were fined 200 United States Dollars each, by the law enforcement officers in the county.

However, they were later ordered by the Stipendiary Magistrate, Gebah Kabah to pay $30 and $15 USD based on their financial competence and gender or sent to jail.
