MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Ministry of Public Works is to shortly begin the demolition of marked structures along the Roberts International Airport.
Acting Public Works Minister, Ruth Coker-Collins, told ELBC Tuesday, September 14, 2021, that the demolition exercise will give way for the road project.
Minister Coker-Collins said the process will begin at the ELWA junction in Paynesville and will be carried out by a joint team from the Ministry of Public works and contractors.
She mentioned that about 90 per cent payment has been made to project affected persons, under the Ministry’s Resettlement Action Plan.
The Public Works Minister said clearing and compaction along the road has reached 85 per cent.
Owners of structures marked along the Roberts International Airport should either start taking the initiative to have them demolished or wait for the Ministry of Public Works to carry out the exercise.
