MONROVIA, LIBERIA – St. Clements University, Liberia, has been lauded as a National private university igniting a new breed of educated Liberians bound to make relevant contributions to the Nation’s human capacity building in the applied sciences.
The Vice President and Executive Dean of Graduate Studies and Research at the University of Liberia; Prof. Jonathan Taylor, said: “A nation with an educated population and relevant training is not a privilege but National duty and priority”.
Prof. Taylor underscored further that it is high time Liberia and its new breed of educated technocrats consider training as a relevant tool for the Nation’s development agenda.
He made the statement Tuesday, December 10, 2019, when he delivered the Commencement Addressed the Graduation of the Class of 2019 dubbed, “SU-WOOZAGA GA VIKE” (It Being Too Long), of St. Clements University, Liberia.

About 46 BSc Degrees, including two ‘AA’ Degrees, were conferred upon the graduating Class Class of 2019-2020, who have obtained qualifications in various and professional disciplines.
Prof. Taylor said, “the dream of the founder of St. Clements University, Liberia, Dr. David Le Cornu, is to make relevant contributions to Liberia’s human capacity building in the applied sciences”.
The Convocation Speaker said that providing an educated and trained Development Scientists, Human Resource personnel, Procurement Officers, Banking and Finance executives among other professions represents a major capability assessment to drive National Development.
He called on the graduates to make use of the knowledge acquired and lauded the St. Clements University for promoting quality education and providing specialized training in development studies, Human resources, among others in the country.
This was followed by conferring of degrees, but the occasion could not have ended without words of caution from the University Board Chair, Dr. Augustine Konneh.
The St. Clements University, Liberia, established in 2010, is a member of the St. Clements Education Group of global universities founded by Dr. David Le Cornu, with Headquarters in Australia. The University is known for innovation and creativity and is based in Paynesville City, outside Monrovia, the Nation’s Capital.
The University is expected to add courses, including Public Health, Environment Science, and Criminal Justice, to its already existing courses, including Development Studies, Procurement Management, Human Resource Management (HRM), and Banking and Finance for ‘AA and BSc’ Degrees.
For the College of Sciences, Petroleum Engineering, Mining Engineering, and Mining Technology are being offered on ‘AA’ Level.
For their part, the Board Chairman of the University, Dr. Augustine Konneh, cautioned the Graduates to become Ambassadors of the University and remain courageous in giving back to the University in diverse ways, with the expectancy to serve their Nation.
While the Acting President of St. Clements University, Rev. Samuel Duodu, said: “The Goals of the University is to provide quality education aims at preparing Liberian students to contribute immensely to the human resource development process, alleviate societal problems and boost productivity.”
