MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Monrovia City Court has issued a writ of arrest for the political leader of the Alternative National Congress (ANC), Alexander Cummings.
It followed an application filed by the All Liberian Party (ALP) of Benoni Urey.
It came days after the National Executive Committee of the ALP mandated its political leader, Mr. Urey, to withdraw from the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP).
The latest action by the ALP and its Political Leader is another twist of events surrounding the opposition community, which is glaringly divided ahead of next year’s crucial elections.
According to the ALP, the decision was made following a review of the Party’s participation in the CPP, the uncertainties about the political future of the collaboration and the lack of strong will to take action on the alleged alterations of the CPP’S Framework Agreement.
