MONROVIA, LIBERIA – Petroleum importers have been given 90 days ultimatum to settle their financial indebtedness to Government or face the consequence of non-compliance.
An Executive Mansion release Friday, March 6, 2020 quotes President George Weah as instructing the Justice Ministry to implement the directive with immediate effect.
President Weah’s latest action followed findings and recommendations submitted by the Special Presidential Committee on the gasoline crisis.
The release says the Liberian Leader has also suspended the licenses of all petroleum importers to conduct a performance-based review from January 2017 to January, 2020.
The Liberian Chief Executive also warned of summary revocation of licenses of importers failing to meet Government’s performance and capacity requirements.
Meanwhile, President Weah has, with immediate effect, dismissed LPRC Deputy Managing Director for Operations, Bobby Brown, for fraud and gross negligence.
