Passport fraud allegation is false and misleading- Former Foreign Minister Findley

BUCHANAN,GRAND BASSA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Former Foreign Affairs Minister Gbehzongar Findley has described as false and misleading passport fraud allegation against him, by former Passport Director, Andrew Wonploe.

Recently, Mr. Wonploe accused Mr. Findley of his involvement in passport fraud, while serving as Foreign Minister.

But addressing local journalists on Sunday, September 27, 2020, in Buchanan, Mr. Findley said:” At no time did I instruct Mr. Wonploe to trade Liberian Passports to non-Liberians, or involve in a passport fraud at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as alleged.”

The former Foreign Minister said under his watch, Director Wonploe was suspended for passport fraud, and forwarded to the National Security Agency (NSA) for investigation and later charged forwarded to court for prosecution.

Mr. Findley also clarified that while serving as Foreign Minister, all Honorary Consuls commissioned and issued diplomatic passports by the Government of Liberia were duly vetted in compliance with established international protocols, regulations and laws.

Meanwhile, the CDC Grand Bassa Senatorial Candidate has challenged his accuser, Mr. Andrew Wonploe, to submit himself to the jurisdiction of the court and stop escaping justice.
