MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Partnership for Research on Ebola Vaccines in Liberia (PREVAIL) has launched a five-year research study on the Coronavirus in Montserrado and Margibi Counties.
PREVAIL, Principal Investigator, Dr. Kumbly-Tee Johnson, told ELBC Wednesday, September 30, 2020, that the research targets at least 500 Covid-19 infected persons.
Dr. Johnson said the study includes the collection of data on the effect of the virus on an infected person and laboratory testing of samples.
According to Dr. Johnson, the result of each investigation on an infected person will be privately communicated by the team of investigators.
Meanwhile, the Director of PREVAIL, Dr. James Duworko, said at the end of the Covid-19 research study, the findings are expected to be published in several scientific journals to help scientists’ efforts in finding a vaccine.
