MONROVIA, LIBERIA-SecureRisk Insurance Company has filed a lawsuit against Authorities of the Education Ministry at the Commercial Court, over alleged one-million United States Dollars claim.

In a thirteen count petition, legal counsels of Global Law partners representing SecureRisk said an award letter was received from the Education Ministry in January 2019, for the provision of Health and Life insurance services for more than seventeen-thousand insured employees of the Ministry.

SecureRisk and the Ministry of Education entered a memorandum of understanding for the provision of Insurance services, inclusive of Group Term Life and Medical Insurance coverage, in accordance with the agreed Group Master Policy.

The Insurance Company said after it participated in a bidding process for the provision of insurance coverage for employees of the Ministry, they later received a communication in March this year stating that the Insurance Company was not selected, due to its non-responsiveness of the bid.

SecureRisk alleged that after an extension contained in a communication dated February 28, 2020, the Education Ministry refused and rejected to return medical insurance slips issued by the Ministry for employees’ medicals.
