Violent Storm Destroys Roofs of Several Buildings at Charlesville Public School

MARGIBI COUNTY, LIBERIA-Violent storm has destroyed three buildings, including a recently dedicated annex, at the Charles Ville Public School in Margibi County.

The roofs of the three buildings were destroyed during the heavy storms late Tuesday night, April 27, 2021, leaving more than five hundred students without classrooms.

ELBC Margibi County Correspondent said:” The storm also destroyed the entire elementary and Jr. High sections, the auditorium, and the Vice Principal’s Office.”

Among the damaged buildings is the Senior High Annex, which was recently dedicated by President George Weah during the third leg of his Nationwide Tour, in Margibi County.

Our Correspondent said Students who turned out on Wednesday, were left in the open on the campus roaming about in disbelieve about the incident.

The Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA), Andrew Kollie, said:” We have informed the County’s Legislative Caucus and Education about the unfortunate incident.”

Meanwhile, the Charles Ville Public School PTA Chairman is calling on humanitarian organizations and the Government to promptly come to the rescue of students at the institution.
