Mano River Union Mission meets Guinea Military Ruler

CONAKRY, GUINEA-Foreign Minister Dee Maxwell Kemayah, as head of a high level Mano River Union (MRU) Mission, has met with Guinean Military ruler, Mamady Doumbouya.

Speaking to ELBC news recently, following the meeting at the State Palace in Conakry, Minister Kemayah termed the discussion as resoundingly successful.

He quotes Col. Dombouya as calling on the International Community for ample time to put together a road map that will lead to a peaceful transition to civilian rule.

Col. Doumbouya is also said to have expressed willingness to work with the International community, including the MRU, to ensure that the Country returns to normalcy.

The MRU Joint Mission to Guinea includes the regional body’s Secretary General Medina Wesseh, Liberia’s Deputy Defense Minister for Operations Prince Vincent, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Defense Hassan Conteh and Army Brigadier General Abu Bakar-Conteh among others.

The engagement in Guinea is in furtherance of a joint Communique adopted recently at the end of a MRU summit in Liberia.
