Public Works Ministry sets 2022 as ongoing road projects completion year

by Maximilian K. Kasseh jr

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Public Works has set 2022 as time for the completion of ongoing road construction projects across the Country.

The Ministry named the ELWA to Roberts International Airport (RIA) Highway, the construction of the overhead bridge, the finishing and official dedication of the Du-River Bridge in Firestone, and other road works as its major concentration for the year.

Acting Public Works Minister Ruth Coker-Collins told ELBC on Wednesday, December 5, 2022, that as part of the plans, pavement of the RIA Highway will begin shortly.

The Public Works Minister is, however, appealing to affected residents along the highway, yet to receive their settlement to be patient, as the Ministry is processing their payment.

Her statement comes in the wake of reports that residents along the road are planning some protest in demand of their payment.
