Liberia’s Commerce Minister calls for governments to target health care infrastructures worldwide

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Commerce and Industry Minister Mawine Diggs wants governments around the world ensure national expenditures are targeted towards health care infrastructures.

Minister also called for the need to create enhanced health programs to promote access to health services.

She said: “Liberia stands ready to support regional and international efforts to ensure the participation of the private sector in building a viable and strong health sector.”

Minister Mawine Diggs was speaking on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the opening of the EU-AU Summit in Brussels, Belgium.

She added that the private sector remains a catalyst for growth for which public–private partnership are needed to revive the health sector.

Minister Diggs ended her remark by saying the Liberia Government has stepped up regulations to enhance trade facilitation and support to micro, small and medium enterprises.
