Todee District pleas for more officers

by Maximilian K. Kasseh jr

TODEE DISTRICT, MONTSERRADO COUNTY, LIBERIA-Residents of Todee District are appealing to authorities of the Liberia National Police (LNP) to assign officers at the Crimes Service and Women and Children Protection Sections of the force in the area.

They said that the lack of investigative officers at the local police depots is hampering the administration of justice in the District.

Tubmanville Township Commissioner, Nathaniel Sackie, said: “Investigative police officers are usually sent from the Headquarters of the LNP to handle criminal cases here.”

Commissioner Sackie said local authorities have to keep a dead body for several days for conduct of a forensic investigation.

According to ELBC Todee District Correspondent, the District with a population of more than twenty-thousand inhabitants has two police depots with only five assigned police officers.
