HARBEL, LIBERIA-The National Elections Commission (NEC) has embarked on the pre-trial exercise of the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) in Liberia ahead of the actual date.

According to NEC guidelines, the BVR exercise for the 2023 Presidential and General Elections is slated for March 20 and May 11, this year.

Speaking on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, in Garzon Town, Margibi County, NEC Communication Director, Henry Flomo, said:” The pre-trial exercise is intended to identify some challenges before the actual exercise kicks-off.”

Mr. Flomo told journalists that the exercise will enable technicians of the BVR to identify the finger prints of individuals who are engaged in physical and chemical related issues, among others.

Meanwhile, some residents of Garzon Town who participated in the pre-trial BVR exercise said the process is good, but called on NEC and partners to adequately train people to do the work.
