Foreign Minister Assures EU Electoral Observation Exploratory Mission

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Foreign Minister Dee-Maxwell Kemayah has assured the visiting six-man EU Electoral Observation Exploratory Mission and other international partners of Liberia’s commitment to holding free, fair, and transparent elections in October.

Speaking on Thursday, April 20, 2023, when the visiting EU Electoral Observation Team paid a visit to his Foreign Ministry Office, Amb. Kemayah further indicated that the forthcoming General and Presidential Elections are crucial to consolidating Liberia’s democracy, peace, and national development.

Speaking earlier, the Head of the EU Delegation to Liberia, Laurent Delahouse, said:” The Mission is in the Country to engage and hold discussions with the Liberian Government ahead of the upcoming elections.”

In remarks, Mrs. Yasmina Sioud, who heads the Delegation from the Democracy and Election Division of the EU, disclosed that they are in Liberia on a two-week technical observation mission.

According to her, while in Liberia, her team is expected to hold and hold discussions with all stakeholders in the Country.
