MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The United States Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), Ambassador Linda Thomas Greenfield, says Liberia remains a strong ally to the United States.

Ambassador Greenfield expressed the hope that the Permanent Missions of the US and Liberia can further strengthen existing relations, to promote shared values and interests in addressing global issues at the UN.

According to a dispatch, Ambassador Greenfield gave the assurance recently in New York, during a courtesy meeting with Liberia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Sarah Safyn Fyneah.

The US Diploma also hailed Liberia for its position on the war in Ukraine, and its statement and support during the recent vote on the UN General Assembly’s Resolution, commemorating one year since Russia invaded Ukraine.

Responding, Ambassador Fyneah reassured Ambassador Greenfield of President George Weah’s commitment to ensuring the conduct of peaceful, democratic, and violent-free elections in October, this year.
