General Auditing Commission to Conduct Audit of Global Fund Projects in Liberia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The General Auditing Commission (GAC) is expected to conduct an audit of all Global Fund Projects in Liberia.

Global Fund, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, is an international financing institution designed to accelerate the end of aids and tuberculosis in countries, including Liberia.

The organization mobilizes and invests more than four billion US Dollars annually, to support grants run by local experts in more than one hundred countries.

In Liberia, the Fund has invested millions of US Dollars to support the country’s Health Sector in the fight against aids, tuberculosis, and malaria.

According to a release issued recently, the GAC was selected to conduct the audit following the signing of separate Memorandums of Understanding with the Fund recently in Monrovia and Geneva.

As part of the MoU, the GAC will provide assurance services, including external financial audits, agreed-upon procedures, and due diligence on counterpart financing.
