MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government says it has secured well-funded scholarships for twenty deserving Liberian students to pursue studies at the Houphouet-Boigny National Polytechnic Institute in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast.

A recruitment process is ongoing to afford students the opportunity to specialize in various engineering and technological disciplines to address youth unemployment.

The project is being coordinated by the Office of the First Lady, along with the Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Houphouet-Boigny National Polytechnic Institute.

According to a release issued recently, the program is restricted to Liberian science students not older than twenty-four years, who have successfully passed the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and are recent high school graduates or freshmen students at universities.

The release said successful candidates will specialize in one of the five specialized areas, including Mining and Geology, Engineering, Industrial Engineering Sciences, Technologies, Information Technology, and Agriculture, among others.
