UN-Women Office Commends Gov. for Protecting Women and Girls…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Office of UN-Women in Liberia is commending the Liberian Government for protecting women and girls against violence and harmful traditional practices.

The commendation followed the suspension of Sande’s activities in Grand Cape Mount County.

Un-Women Liberia Head for Operations, Yawo Maglo, said:” The move is crucial to international human rights.”

He described the Government’s decision to suspend Sande’s activities as a major gain towards the promotion of human rights.

Meanwhile, Mr. Yawo Maglo has assured the entity’s commitment to working along with the Liberian Government to ensure women and girls are protected.
