Careysburg Appeals to Pres. Weah for Electricity

by Maximilian K. Kasseh jr

MONTSERRADO COUNTY, LIBERIA-Citizens of Careysburg, and surrounding areas are appealing to President George Weah for the provision of electricity.

They said the absence of electricity has impeded economic activities and instilled fear among them.

A representative of the group, Careysburg First Time Voters, Naomi Jankaba, made the plea on behalf of the citizens on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.

Miss Jankaba said:” The provision of electricity will improve lives through the opening of businesses and security.”

She, however, pledged the group’s support to the re-election of President George Weah.

In a related development, a group under the banner “Fendell Victims Association” has described President George Weah as a caring leader.

The Chairlady of the group said:” Through the intervention of the Weah-led Administration, victims of the Fendell demolition hopes were restored.”

The demolition exercise took place during the Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf-led Government, damaging dozens of homes and businesses, and triggering hardship for ordinary citizens.

But the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC)-led Government has begun a compensation package, disbursing an initial amount of over four million US Dollars to help victims rebuild their lives.

She spoke at a citizen’s engagement with President George Weah and his campaign team in Careysburg, District One.
