Monrovia, Liberia – Incumbent President George Weah, of the Coalition for Democratic Change, has maintained his lead in the latest results released from Tuesday’s polls.
Saturday, October 14, results from the National Elections Commission gave President Weah 415, 895 votes, representing 44.58 percent.
Unity Party’s Joseph Boakai is in second place with 402, 137 votes, constituting 43.1 percent.
Lusinee Kamara, of the All Liberian Coalition Party, occupies third place with 19,363 votes, which amounts to 2.02 percent.
Suprise Package, Edward Appleton of GDM sits at fourth place in the race with 18,330 votes, which amounts to 1.96 percent.
About 2,933 of 5,890 have reported so far, representing 49.8 percent of the overall votes cast.
