CDC Campaign Spokesman Criticizes UP for ‘Premature’ Announcement of result

by Francis Pelenah Jr,

Monrovia, Liberia – The National Campaign Spokesman of the Coalition for Democratic Change has termed the decision by Unity Party to announce election results as politically reckless and undemocratic.

Cllr. Kanio Bai Gbala said such behavior has the tendency to undermine the credibility of the National Elections Commission and provoke violence.

Cllr. Gbala reminded the Unity Party that it was on account of such provocative statements and actions the two CDC Partisans were killed recently in Foya, Lofa County.

In an ELBC interview Sunday, the CDC Campaign Spokesman noted that the actions by the UP are serious violations of not only the Farmington Declaration, but also the various criminal laws of Liberia.

He then assured partisans and supporters of the CDC that a Weah-Taylor 2023 National Victory Campaign is alive, urging them to remain calm and law-abiding.
