by Maximilian K. Kasseh jr

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Foreign Minister Dee-Maxwell Kemayah has dismissed claims that Liberia was among the countries that signed gay rights at the 2023 Summit for Democracy held in Lusaka, Zambia.

Minister Kemayah said:” Liberia is a country of culture and values, as such, at no time did it sign gay rights as being widely speculated.”

The Dean of the Liberian Cabinet described such a report as negative propaganda intended to devalue the country’s cultural heritage.

He maintained that Liberia holds strongly to its cultural values and will do nothing contrary to the will of the citizenry.

The Liberian Foreign Minister clarified on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, in Monrovia during a strategic engagement meeting between the incoming administration Foreign Affairs Team and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
