A Finance Ministry release issued recently said the technical support team will ensure strong coordination, commitment, and other key national development issues align with the ARREST Agenda to address critical national concerns.

Minister Brunson, on behalf of the Government, commended the UN for its longstanding partnership, commitment, and support to Liberia over the years.

The Deputy Finance Minister disclosed that a team from the Ministry of Finance is expected to work closely with its UN counterpart to complete the formulation of the National Development Plan.

Meanwhile, the National Development Plan is expected to be finalized and launched in October, this year.

At the same time, the UN Resident Coordinator has described the launch of the technical support as a significant milestone for the Government and the UN’s collective efforts to foster sustainable development, transformation, and prosperity for all Liberians.

Madam Umutoni said:” The UN, through its various agencies, will support the Government of Liberia and its national and sub-national development planning process.”

The UN Resident Coordinator stated that a multi-disciplinary approach that integrates the principles of sustainability, inclusivity, and resilience, will address the root causes of poverty, and inequality and empower marginalized communities.
