Pres. Boakai Sets Up Nat’l Edu. Advisory Board

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has constituted the National Education Advisory Board, Board of Governors, and the Principal of the Booker Washington Institute (BWI).

For the National Education Advisory Board, President Boakai appointed the Minister of Education as Chairperson, Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS) Council Chairperson, Dr. Benjamin Wheye, Member, Mason Saweler, Member and the Executive Secretary of the Association of the Liberian Universities as Member.

Others include Mohammed Kamara, Member, Head of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Dale Gbotoe, Member, Dr. Harris Tarnue, Member, Mr. Sumo Varfee Moulubah, Member, Mulbah Johnson, Member, Netty Davis, Member, and Cllr. Aegon Tingba as a Member, among others.

According to an Executive Mansion release issued over the weekend, President Boakai constituted the Board of Governors of the BWI, naming Jonathan Paye-Layleh, Representative of the Chair Ex-Officio, Member, Madam Georgia Selli, Member, Francis Kenyon, Member and Blama Siryon, Member.

Others are the Minister of Education, Ex-Officio, Statutory Member, Ministry of Finance, Representative of China Union, Member, Representative of ArcelorMittal, Member, Ministry of Finance, Statutory Member, Ministry of Agriculture, Statutory Member and Ministry of Youth and Sports, Statutory Member, among others.

Meanwhile, the Liberian Leader has appointed Dr. Nancy Freeman as Principal of the BWI.

According to the Liberian Leader, the appointments take immediate effect and called on all those nominated and appointed to continue to demonstrate diligence, commitment, integrity, professionalism, and loyalty in service to the Country.
