MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) has reported sixty percent completion of a project earmarked under the government of Liberia’s one-hundred-day deliverable.

LWSC was tasked to ensure the cleaning of excess sewage spillage in Monrovia, restore water to central Monrovia, and improve water supply to Bushrod Island, Kakata, and Buchanan.

LWSC Managing Director Mohammed Ali told ELBC on Tuesday, 07 May 2024, that the reservoir, to restore water to central Monrovia was successfully repaired while the clearing of sewage is ongoing.

Mr. Ali said: “The entity could not complete its mandate under the government’s one hundred-day deliverables because it was tied to the National Budget which was not passed at the time”.

According to him, funds for the implementation of some of the projects undertaken by the LWSC were made available by donors, including the World Bank.
