MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Foreign Minister Dee-Maxwell Kemayah has hailed the bilateral relations between Liberia and Egypt.
Minister Kemayah made the statement on Thursday, January 11, 2024, when the Egyptian Ambassador Designate to Liberia, Ahmed El Azeem Zeinhom Abd El Shakour Farghaly, paid him a Courtesy call at the Foreign Ministry.
The Dean of the Liberian Cabinet assured the Egyptian Ambassador Designate that Liberia is determined to strengthen corporation with the Arab nation, aimed at enhancing the growth and development of Liberia.
He expressed optimism that the bilateral coorporation between the two countries will be further enhanced during the tenure of Mr. Ahmed El Azeem Zeinhom Abd El Shakour Farghaly as Ambassador.
The Liberian Foreign Minister also received Letters of Credence from the Egyptian Ambassador and congratulated him for his preferment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Liberia.
For his part, the Egyptian Ambassador Designate to Liberia, Ahmed El Azeem Zeinhom Abd El Shakour Farghaly, said:” Egypt is keen on enhancing diplomatic ties between the two countries.”
He said:” The move is to enhance the present level of cooperation between Egypt and Liberia, aimed at promoting mutual understanding and collaboration across various fields.”
The Egyptian Envoy disclosed that Liberian Cadres will participate annually in more than fifty capacity building training courses organized by Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development in the areas of military training, medicine, energy and finance, among others.
Ambassador Ahmed El Azeem Zeinhom Abd El Shakour Farghaly also disclosed that Egypt will annually provide seven fully covered scholarships for high school graduates in Liberia to pursue University studies in that Arab Country.
The Egyptian Ambassador then congratulated Liberia on the candidacy as non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
