MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia has congratulated the Governments and peoples of Togo and Sierra Leone on the occasion marking their 64th and 63rd Independence Anniversaries, respectively.
According to a Foreign Ministry release issued over the weekend, President Joseph Boakai extended warm compliments to his Togolese and Sierra Leonean counterparts, Feure Gnassingbe and Julius Maada Bio, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia.
In his message to the two Presidents, the Liberian Leader assured that the Liberian Government will continue to support continental and regional peace and security.
President Boakai also prayed that the bonds of friendship between Liberia and the two countries would be further strengthened for the mutual benefit of their respective peoples.
The release noted that the Liberian President also prayed that God would restore the prosperity of Sierra Leone and continue to endow President Bio with abundant wisdom to lead his country to noble heights.
In a related development, the Liberian Leader has also congratulated the Government and people of South Africa on the occasion marking the 30th Freedom Day anniversary of that country.
In his message to President Cyril Ramaphosa, President Boakai expressed the hope that as the people of South Africa commemorate this historic occasion, the cordial ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries will be further cemented.
According to the Foreign Ministry, South Africa is celebrating its Freedom Day to mark the liberation of the country and its people from a long period of colonialism and white minority domination.
