Family of 14 year-old rape victim demands justice in Lofa County

by Administrator

LOFA COUNTY – The Family of a fourteen year girl allegedly raped in Lofa County is calling for justice following the release of the alleged perpetrator by the Foya Magisterial court.

The victim’s father Tamba Johnson accused Magistrate Foday Konneh of using his power to release the suspect.

Our Correspondent quotes Mr. Johnson saying the Magistrate released the suspect due to the family’s inability to pay 10 thousand Liberian dollars he requested for the transfer of the case to the circuit court in Vonjaima.

He is however calling for the intervention of human rights groups to ensure that his family gets justice for the damage done to their 14-year-old daughter.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Konneh has since denied the allegations saying that at no time did he demand 10-thousand Liberian Dollars for the transfer of the case to the Circuit Court in Voinjama.
