Pres. Weah pays Special Tribute to fallen former Council Man Alhaji GV Kromah

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has paid special tribute to former Council man, Alhaji GV Kromah, who died early Tuesday morning.

President Weah recalled that Professor Kromah was an active member of the faculty of the University of Liberia, where he helped mold the minds of many of Liberian youths.

The fallen Statesman also served as Director General of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) and Minister of Information, during the regime of former President Samuel Kanyon Doe.

According an Executive Mansion release issued Tuesday, January 18,2022, President Weah conveyed his deepest sympathy to the Kromah family and all those affected by his passing.

He emphasized that despite the mixed views about the role he played in Liberian history, there’s no denying Mr. Kromah was a pillar of strength to many of his supporters.

The Liberian Leader urged the grieving family to take solace in the Almighty Allah, during this difficult time.

At the same time, the Liberian Government is today opening a Book of Condolence for the fallen Statesman.

The Book of Condolence will be opened at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Central Monrovia, beginning Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 8am.

According to a Foreign Ministry release issued, funeral rites of the of the former Ambassador at Large will later take place in keeping with the Islamic Faith at 2pm.

The late Professor Alhaji GV Kromah, who died at the age of 68, will be laid to rest in Bomi County.
