Labor Minister Gibson extolls Gov. for Progress Made in Fight against Human Trafficking

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Labor Minister Charles Gibson says the Government of Liberia has made significant progress in the fight against human trafficking across the Country.

Minister Gibson said:” Government has also taken drastic steps to manage cases and reduce possible tendencies of trafficking of persons”.

He said among the steps taken is the development of an exclusive program by the Labor Ministry to discourage human trafficking across Liberia.

The Labor Boss said:” Under the program, a task force has been created in various communities to relate to issues that have to do with human trafficking”.

Cllr. Gibson also spoke of Liberia’s reform law on human trafficking that has been incorporated by countries in the sub-region, increasing the term of the crime of minimal twenty-year imprisonment.

Speaking at the regular MICAT Press Briefing on Thursday, May 4, 2023, in Monrovia, Minister Gibson disclosed that three state-of-the-art safe homes have been added to the existing homes, to cater to human trafficking victims.
