by Maximilian K. Kasseh jr

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Medicine and Health Products Regulatory Authority (LMHRA) has destroyed a huge quantity of baby syrups in Careysburg, in Rural Montserrado County.

It followed the seizure of two-hundred-fifty-six cartons of Para clear from BVM Manufacturing Company’s last six at the Freeport of Monrovia.

Speaking during the exercise on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, LMHRA Managing Director, Ketura Smith-Chinneh, said:” The institution remains robust in testing medications entering Liberia before public consumption.”

According to Madam Smith-Chinneh, LMHRA has banned BVM Manufacturing Company from supplying medication as part of efforts to combat the importation of harmful medicines into the country.

Meanwhile, the LMHRA Boss is cautioning drug importers to meet the institution’s policy, before releasing products on the Liberian market.
