MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Association of Liberian Community Radios (ALICOR) has presented to the National Legislature, for passage into law, the Community Radio Sustainability Bill.

ALOCOR President, Hector Mulbah, said:” The bill if enacted into law, will ensure an improved legal environment for the smooth operations and sustainability of Community Radio Stations in Liberia.”

Mr. Mulbah, however, lauded partners, especially USAID, through Internews, for the technical support that led to the culmination of the bill.

Receiving the instrument, the House’s Committee on Information and Broadcasting, Ivar Jones, assured ALICOR of lobbying to ensure that the bill becomes a law.

Representative Ivar Jones said:” Given the critical role community radios play in championing peace and unity, the need for the enactment cannot be overemphasized.”
